Family Day Out - Parade Time

The Manitou Days parade was last week. Kaeli's cheer team always walks the parade with Bear Cubs. Bear Cubs is an outreach program for girls in elementary school.  This is Kaeli's second year in the parade and she loves it.

Even though this was only the second year, we have already made the night a tradition. Because Kaeli has to be there so early, and parking becomes a problem as the parade gets closer to starting, we just park and stay. After dropping Kaeli off, we walk the lake path, find a place for dinner, then make our way back to the end of the parade route, where we watch.

Lily loves parades! Especially the clowns, life size characters, and really anyone who gives her attention on the way by. She really likes the drums in the bands too.

Kaeli's group was about 2/3 of the through the parade. The cheer team came by with their cheer and spirit, which Lily also loved.

Kaeli came to watch the end of the parade with us and afterwards we ran into a friend from the past. It's hard to believe that it's been about 20 years since I first met Chris. Wayne and I used to spend almost every day with him and 3 others in a group of 6. Good memories! I'm disappointed I forgot to take a picture with him at the parade.

It was a great night for a parade!
